Increasing consumer confidence in the beef industry. Hands-on training, come ready to get dirty!
Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) is a nationally coordinated, state implemented program that provides education and training for cattle producers about good animal husbandry and management. Topics covered include: recordkeeping methods, 7 quality checks, safe animal handling and hauling and proper administration of animal health products. After the training, a short exam will be given allowing producers to become BQA certified. Certificates are valid for 3 years.
This meeting is FREE. Lunch will be provided and is
sponsored by the Monroe County Cattleman’s Association.

The 4-H Chick Chain Project teaches young people recommended management practices for growing and raising chickens.
This project is for youth 9-18 years old. You will receive ten baby chicks the week of May 20th. You will show and sell two of the chicks at the Chick Chain Show and Auction in October. You will get to keep the remaining eight chicks at the conclusion of the show..
