Farm-City Multimedia, Essay and Poster Contests

farmThe Farm-City program brings the city and the country together by fostering relationships between rural farmers and urban workers.  The week of Thanksgiving has been recognized as Farm-City Week.  This years theme is “Agriculture: Food for Life”.  Calhoun County 4-H encourages all our elementary, middle and high school students to enter one of the Farm-City contests. Earth Day 2017

Earth Day 2017 was held at Cane Creek Community Gardens at McClellan on April 17th and 18th.    Over 800 4th graders from around the County visited the Gardens over the 2 day period.  They spent their day of learning about environmental issues that affect their lives.

4H Youth

4H volunteers donated over 2,000 hours of their time (valued over $48,000) and more than 1,600 young people participate in 4H activities each month, such as whitewater kayak trips, Earth Day activities, Shooting Sports Clubs, Robotics Clubs and Camp Cane Creek, which is held each Summer at Cane Creek Community Gardens.
