 2018 Replacement Female Sale

The 20th Annual Herdbuilder Replacement Female Sale was held August 31st 2018 at Alabama Livestock Auction in Uniontown Alabama. 17 Consignors marketed a total of 231 head of bred heifers and 7 open heifers. Bred heifers averaged $1,867 and open heifers averaged $1,457. The sale gross was $441,550.   High selling bred heifer lots were ABBA Golden Certified F1 Hereford-Brahman consigned by Carey Cauthen of Montgomery Alabama and sold to Emily Hollingsworth of Gallion Alabama for $3,000. High selling open heifers were consigned by Beeker Cattle and Catfish of Eutaw Alabama and sold to John Ross Debter of Horton Alabama for $1,500. A total of 27 buyers purchased cattle this year. Volume buyers were John Session of Evergreen Alabama; 47 head, Jon Kilgore of Taylorsville Mississippi; 23 head. The annual sale is hosted by Alabama Cooperative Extension and Alabama Beef Cattle Improvement Association.

Alabama Master Naturalist Program

The Alabama Master Naturalist program is a new statewide program whose goal is to help promote awareness, understanding, and respect of Alabama’s natural world among Alabama’s citizens and visitors. In addition, the AMN program will also develop a statewide corps of well-informed volunteers providing education, outreach, and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas within their communities.
