Power to Prevent Diabetes is a program designed to encourage persons at increased risk for diabetes to lose weight and prevent or delay the disease. The program presents nutrition and physical activity health tips and suggests activities that are simple and fun.
The program consists of six weekly sessions. More time may be required for some of the sessions, depending on the participants’ interests. Participants are encouraged to bring family members or friends to the sessions to support healthy lifestyle behaviors for everyone.
Diabetes Support Group Meetings are held each month and involves a time of sharing and problem solving, an educational program, and a recipe sampling of a diabetic friendly dish.
