Do you want to learn how to prepare delicious meals and snacks to control or prevent diabetes, high blood pressure, and other diseases? The Alabama Cooperative Extension System along with co-sponsored AGAPE Ministry is offering a four class series that focuses on Diabetes Cooking. You will learn how to: 1) choose healthier food, 2) prepare recipes lower in fat, cholesterol, sugar, and sodium, 3) portion control, 4) label reading, 5) use various sweeteners, 6) choose carbohydrates, and 7) choose the right fats. The focus is on citizens 40 years of age and older. The classes will be taught by Christina LaVert, Regional Extension Agent and Registered Dietitian.
