Eating for a Lifetime of Good Health – Right Bite

The Right Bite series is a 6-Session Class that incorporate ways to look at calories and portion sizes while learning about healthier recipe options. While the series has an emphasis on people learning to eat with a diabetes diagnosis – the class is educational for all. The sessions include the following:

  • Sweeteners: Desserts for Special Occasions
  • Portion Control
  • Reading the Nutrition Label
  • Choosing the Right Fat: Controlling Risk for Cardiovascular Disease
  • Carbohydrate and Fiber: Friend or Foe?
  • Seven Ways to Control Your Blood Pressure

There is a specific recipe that will be prepared on-site by the participants. For example, the first session looks at a banana bread recipe and how to make it using an alternative sweetener.

The Series will be at the Etowah County Extension Office Etowah County Annex Building, 3200A West Meighan Boulevard, Gadsden, beginning September 5th from 1 PM until 2:30PM, it continues until October 10th.
