Fayette County Extension has a new marquee sign thanks to funds made available thru a Tombigbee RC&D grant. The sign is double-sided with room for 3 lines of 6″ letters. We would also like to thank the Fayette County Commission, Fayette County Engineer and the Fayette County Road Department for pouring the concrete footer and mounting the sign. The sign is located at the intersection of State Highway 43 and County Road 38 and will make it easier for local residents to see programming being offered by Extension.
Farming in Fayette County encompasses a very broad landscape, including livestock (poultry, cattle, horses, goats, etc.) as well as a diverse range of row crops including corn, cotton, soybeans, peanuts, wheat and grain sorghum. Fayette County also has producers who grow fruits and vegetables for sale at the Farmer’s Market located at the Extension Office.
