In order to promote more involvement with livestock exhibition and evaluation, the Alabama Farmers Federation and the Alabama Cooperative Extension System are partnering to host a livestock judging clinic on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the Fayette County Multipurpose Complex located at 650 McConnell Loop in Fayette, Alabama. The clinic will begin at 10:00 AM on May 7th.
Students will be given the opportunity to sort through a class of each of the following species: stock-type horses, beef steers, beef heifers, market lambs, and market hogs. Students will be expected to give a set of reasons on one of the classes and will be notified which class they will have to give reasons on. Students will be provided with some outstanding materials and judging manuals before they leave the clinic. Participants will be expected to provide their own notebook and writing utensils.
We will provide a free lunch for the students and there is no fee for students to attend this conference. Advance registration is required no later than May 1. Please see the registration form below.
