4-H SUMMER ACTIVITIES 2018

 

 

 

The 4-H fun doesn’t stop when school’s out! We have a summer full of fun activities to keep you busy. Come try new things or start a new hobby. We have everything from growing and cooking food to exploring the outdoors and blasting rockets. 

Registration: Pre-registration is required for all activities. Register

Please bring a completed and signed 4-H Youth Consent form to the first summer program you attend. Participants for Sportfishing and the Outdoor Adventures Camp also need a Water Liability waiver. Participants attending both the morning and afternoon program at the 4-H Office can pack a lunch and stay with us all day. Lunch and snacks are provided at the Outdoor Adventures Camp.

KID CHEF (FULL!)

Cast Iron Cooking!!

Family Style meals all the way to Desserts!!

Cooking demonstrations can be a lot of fun! The instructions can look a little scary, though. This 2-day Kid Chef series will show you how to prepare for and compete in 4-H cooking demonstrations.

Monday & Tuesday, June 11 & 12 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.

 

SEWING CLUB (FULL!)

What’s more fun than a PJ PARTY SEWING CLASS!! You will be getting crafty with a t-shirt at this slumber party. You will need to bring a t-shirt without a pocket. All other material will be provided. Remember your basic sewing kit.

Monday & Tuesday, June 18 & 19 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.

 

OUTDOOR ADVENTURE CAMP (FULL!)

Join us for 3 days of outdoor fun! We will fish, kayak, cook out, play frisbee golf, and more!

Plus, the High School Bass Fishing World Finals will be in town, and we get to help with weigh-ins each afternoon.

We will start and end at McFarland Park each day; transportation to different activities will be provided. Health forms and water waivers are required for each 4-H’er.

Participants must be at least 9 years old to attend. ($35)

Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday: June 27-29  9:00 am – 4:00 p.m.

 

 

BREAKFAST OVER THE RAINBOW

Let’s Make Breakfast and Jelly! { Y-U-M-M-Y }. You are going to be dreaming about rainbows with this amazing breakfast creation!

You will be making strawberry and banana jelly, omelets with vegetables from the garden, pineapple jalapeno for breakfast and last but certainly not least a UNICORN SHAKES breakfast drink. (Cost $5)

Thursday, June 13 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

 

DOGGIE DAY CAMP

It’s bring-your-dog-to-4-H day! Learn about taking good care of your dog, express your creativity in our dog and owner costume contest, plus show off your dog’s skills in a talent show. If your dog doesn’t have a talent, we’ll help you teach him or her one!

Thursday June 14, from 9 a.m. – Noon

 

CREATIVE CLOVERS (FULL!)

Spend the afternoon crafting with us! We will explore different mediums and techniques, and everyone will have a project or two to take home.

It may or may not turn out to be “Pinterest-worthy”, but it will be fun! ($5 each day)

Tuesday June 12, Noon – 3 p.m. and Tuesday June 19, Noon – 3 p.m.

4-H YOGA

Yoga is fun and an easy way to increase physical activity and flexibility, strengthen your body and mind, improve self-confidence and promote relaxation.

Come and explore the world of adventure and relaxation with this SUPER RELAXED Fun-Shop! So many poses to learns and TONS of fun! No experience necessary! Don’t forget your yoga mat and water bottle for this adventure!

Wednesday, June 6 & 13 and July 11 & 18 from 9 a.m.-11 a.m.

 

SMARTY HEARTY

Let’s learn how to become SMARTY PANTS about nutrition! You are going to discover all the “SECRETS” to being happy and healthy in this fun-shop. You will play Nutrition Bingo and create the ULTIMATE SUPER SURPRISE SMOOTHIE! You DO NOT want to miss all the fun this fun-shop has to offer! (Cost $5)

Tuesday, July 3 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.

 

STEM CHALLENGE DAY CAMP (FULL!)

Are you up to the CHALLENGE? Or, should I say, CHALLENGES?

Participants will be challenged to build a robot that can complete a course, launch a rocket that keeps its payload safe, fly a drone through an obstacle course, and create a game in a computer program. Whew! For ages 9 and up. (Cost $15)

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, July 16, 17 and 18 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
