Earth Day 2017

Earth Day 2017 was held at Cane Creek Community Gardens at McClellan on April 17th and 18th.    Over 800 4th graders from around the County visited the Gardens over the 2 day period.  They spent their day of learning about environmental issues that affect their lives.

Many thanks to our sponsors, staff and volunteers for their help.

The Etowah County Extension Office is providing 2 opportunities for training this spring.  The intent of this training is to provide all farmers market sellers with information and training related to new and emerging topics such as, but not limited to:  senior voucher programs, nutrition education and marketing programs, growers permits, and cottage food law safety requirements and pest management.  The first half of the training is geared toward farmers market managers.  Feel free to join us for any of the day’s activities that you care to attend.

It is our hope that you will take the opportunity to join us, as well as helping us to market the training to other producers in your area.  Please also note that the deadline to sign up for this FREE training is Thursday, March 8th.  You may register by calling the Etowah County Extension Office at 256.547.7936.
